When I first saw these words I stopped what I was doing.

Minimalism is not the lack of something.  It is simply the perfect amount of something.

The perfect amount of something – isn’t that what we should all be striving for…

Many people are scared when they hear the word minimalism.  It’s really not as terrifying as you might think.

Living in a world of abundance – we are constantly surround by things, overwhelmed by what occupies our space.  Often times we don’t even know that all the “STUFF” is one of the biggest contributors to the stress in our lives.

Take a minute to think about how your life would improve if you went from having too much stuff to the perfect amount.  If you donated the excess and had exactly what you use and need, what would really change in your life?

TIME – Every item in your home takes up your time.  If you purge what you don’t use, imagine the extra time you would have…

  • Less time cleaning
  • Less time searching for misplaced items
  • You gain time by having less to think about and fewer decisions to make
  • More time to spend with the people that matter most

Saying YES without stress of over committing…

  • Yes to having friends over because you don’t have to run around picking things up and cleaning when you want to have people over
  • Yes to playing games and doing art projects with your kids.  When you aren’t managing clutter you can spend the time you have gained doing things you have always said no to.
  • Yes to spending time with people and improving relationships that are important to you.

Saving $ – When you aren’t spending money on items you don’ t really use or need you have money for more important things.

  • $ to save
  • $ to spend on experiences and vacations
  • $ to spend on activities

Clutter is common, it takes up space, consumes our time and energy, increases stress and prevents peacefulness and tranquility.  When we purge and declutter our homes we are implementing minimalist strategies without even knowing it.

The benefits are obvious.  If not now, when?  It’s time to clear the clutter, reduce your stress and start saying yes to the life you want to be living!

Minimalism is not the lack of something.  It is simply the perfect amount of something.
